The 2nd International Workshop on Power-Aware Algorithms, Systems and Architectures (PASA)

The 2nd International Workshop on Power-Aware Algorithms, Systems and
Architectures (PASA) will be held on October 1, 2013 in Lyon, France,
in conjunction with the 42nd Annual International Conference on
Parallel Processing (ICPP 2013), to be held on October 1-4, Lyon,
France.

Scope
Power-aware computing is becoming one of the top research priorities
for a large variety of systems, including large-scale high performance
computers and corporate data centers. We expect that more efforts will
be invested in the power-aware computing, as a consequence of the
continuous pushing towards higher performance and more compact system.
Power-aware research requires both software and architecture
innovation to improve power-efficiency while maintaining
performance-oriented design. This workshop provides a forum to discuss
the novel ideas about building power-aware software systems and
architectures. It will present researchers the opportunity to develop
new perspective on power-aware hot topics.
Topics
* Power-aware runtime systems
* Power and performance modeling and evaluation
* Tools for power profiling, accounting and measurement
* System-level cross-layer coordination
* Hardware/software co-design to improve power efficiency
* Emerging power efficient storage device such as Solid-State Devices
(SSD) and Storage Class Memories (SCM)
* Power-aware programming scheme
* Power-aware resource management strategies
* Novel architecting that assists in power management
* Thermal control and reduction
Proceedings
The workshop papers will be included in the proceedings of ICPP. They
will be included in and indexed by the IEEE digital library.
