Special Session on Networked Embedded Computing (NEC)
In conjunction with the 15th International symposium on System-on-Chip (SoC 2013)
Tampere, Finland, October 23-24, 2013

General Scope
Many-core embedded systems integrate a large number of cores in order to meet the performance requirements of parallel applications. To meet the performance and design productivity, these systems should be designed for a better modularity, scalability, fault-tolerance, etc.. The goal of this special session is to present and discuss innovative ideas and solutions in design, modelling, prototyping, programming, and implementation of many-core embedded systems. Further focuses (but not limited to) are on reliability issues, heterogeneous systems, reconfiguration and FPGA based approaches along with cyber physical systems.
Proceeding and Special Issue:
The goal of this special session is to bring together the researchers from academia and the experts from industry to present and discuss innovative ideas and solutions in the domain of many-core embedded systems.
* All accepted papers will be published in the IEEE Xplore together with the SoC proceeding.
* The high-quality papers selected by the program committee will be invited to submit an extended version of the paper to IEEE Design&Test of Computers and International Journal of Embedded and Real-Time Communication Systems.
Instruction for Paper Submissions:
You can submit a PDF copy of your full manuscript through the following link: https://www.conftool.pro/
* Submitted papers must not have been published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere.
* Prospective authors should submit a full paper from four to eight pages in the IEEE Conference proceedings format<http://www.ieee.org/
* Double-bind review: the first page of the paper should contain only the title and abstract; in the reference list, references to the authors' own work should appear as "omitted for blind review" entries.
The papers may be accepted for either the oral or poster presentation. The decision of the presentation format will be made by the program chairs, based on the comments from paper review. Independently of the presentation type, all papers are included in the proceedings. The regular length for the papers is four pages, however extra pages can be purchased at the time of author registration.
