All accepted papers will be scheduled for oral presentations and will be
included in the conference proceedings published by *Elsevier Science*.

Selected papers from this workshop will be invited to submit an extended
version for a possible publication at a *Special Issue of the
International Journal of Distributed Systems and Technologies*

BDAM-2014 is dedicated to the applications of, and the theories and
practices for capturing, integrating, analyzing, mining, exploiting and
visualizing complex and large-scale data in a meaningful manner for the
benefit of an enquiry.

The main topic areas include, but are not limited to:
-Benchmarks, metrics, and workload characterization for Big Data
-Data streaming, data driven intelligence, dynamic applications
-Data modelling, management and analytics
-Scalability and elasticity in data storage
-Cloud storage architectures for Big Data
-Cloud Computing for data-intensive computing
-Smart Environments for data gathering
-Query processing and indexing
-Data Security and privacy
-Availability, fault tolerance and recovery issues
-Content delivery networks, graphical user interfaces and visualization
techniques
-Data management within and across multiple geographically distributed
data centers

============== Submission guidelines ==============

Every submitted paper will be carefully reviewed by at least three
members of the International Program Committee. All accepted papers will
be scheduled for oral presentations and will be included in the
conference proceedings published by Elsevier Science in the open-access
Procedia Computer Science series on-line. At least one author of each
accepted paper is required to register and attend the conference to
present the work.
