Understanding ATI / AMD Architecture
Each ATI graphics cards will have Certain No of SIMD (Single Instruction Multiple Data) Cores
Each SIMD core will have 16 SPs (Stream Processors)
Each SP is Five way super Scalar Processor
Each SP will have 4 mul-add units one Special Operation Unit
So If ATI card is having 10 SIMD Cores then
it can do 10*16*5 operations per clock cycle (each SIMD is having 16 SPs and Each SP is having 5 ALUs)
