12th Annual Workshop on Charm++ and its Applications
April 29-30, 2013, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Urbana, IL, USA 
Hosted by the Parallel Programming Laboratory


This year's workshop on Charm++ and its Applications will be held from April 29th through April 30th at University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign. The workshop is broadly focused on adaptivity in highly scalable parallel computing. It also takes stock of recent results in adaptive runtime techniques in Charm++ and the collaborative interdisciplinary research projects developed using it. Prof. Robert Harrison from Stony Brook University and Prof. Vivek Sarkar from Rice University will give keynotes on each day of the workshop. Dr. Robert Wisniewski from Intel will also be giving a talk on challenges of moving to extreme scale system. In addition, there will be 18 technical talks from Charm++ collaborators, external speakers, and members of Parallel Programming Lab.
A panel discussion on "HPC in the Cloud: how much water does it hold?" will be held on the second of the workshop with researchers from both academia and industry.
