Special Issue on "Advanced Techniques for Cloud Data Management" in TLDKS

 Call for Papers for a Special Issue on
             "Advanced Techniques for Cloud Data Management"
                              in TLDKS
                International Journal Transactions on
           Large-Scale Data and Knowledge Centered Systems, Springer

Scope:
-------------------
One of the main advantages of the cloud computing paradigm is that it simplifies the time-consuming processes of hardware provisioning, hardware purchasing and software deployment. Currently, we are witnessing a proliferation in the number of cloud-hosted applications with a tremendous increase in the scale of the data generated as well as being consumed by such applications. Cloud-hosted database systems powering these applications form a critical component in the software stack of these applications.

In principle, cloud computing has been promising many other advantages for its users.
For example, by decoupling the management of the infrastructure (cloud providers) from its use (cloud tenants), and by allowing the sharing of massive infrastructures, cloud computing delivers unprecedented economical and scalability benefits for existing applications and enables many new scenarios.
This comes at the cost of increased complexity in managing a highly multi-tenant infrastructure and limited visibility/access posing new questions on attribution, pricing, isolation, scalability, fault-tolerance, load balancing, etc.
This is particularly challenging for stateful, data-intensive applications

The objective of the TLDKS special issue on Advanced Techniques for Cloud Data Management is to provide an opportunity to disseminate original research contributions and a high quality communication platform for researchers and practitioners. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
      * Elasticity for could data management systems
      * Resource and workload management in cloud databases
      * SLA Management for cloud databases
      * Consistency management for cloud databases
      * Data replication mechanism for cloud databases
      * High availability and reliability in cloud databases
      * Transactional models for cloud databases
      * Virtualization and live migration techniques for cloud databases
      * Privacy and security in cloud data management
      * Economic/business models and pricing policies for cloud databases
      * Multi tenancy management in cloud databases
      * Advances in NoSQL databases
      * Advances in Database-as-a-Service platforms
      * Query optimization techniques for cloud-hosted data
      * Inetgration mechanisms for cloud-hosted data
      * Benchmarking for cloud database systems
