Context and Objectives

In the evolving world of wireless technology and computing, there are many levels of technologies being introduced to the web. With the recent development and progress of cloud computing field, it is possible for users and machines to utilize and to share several services. The current power of robots, communication, storage, fast progress of wireless techniques, enhanced and different types of sensors, robots and sensor networks are able to take advantage of these services and provide influential solutions.
In the age of cloud computing, cloud robotics and sensor clouds are two promising paradigms. Recently, they are increasingly evolving and are likely to be the most effective way to create and monitor robotic and sensor networks applications, in particular for service robots and monitoring applications. Indeed, on the one hand, cloud robotics allow the robots to go beyond their limited processing capabilities and benefit from Internet computing resources. On the other hand, robots can be accessed from anywhere and at anytime through Web interfaces. In the same way, sensor clouds allow to access, use, monitor and interact with sensor nodes seamlessly through the Internet. Although there are several solutions already in place, many challenges remain to be investigated and tackled

The book is expected to serve broad audience including researchers, academics, advanced students, and industrials in the field of robotics and sensor networks.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before August 10, 2014, a 2-3 page chapter proposal clearly explaining the mission and concerns of the proposed chapter.

Authors of accepted proposals will be notified on or before August 30, 2014 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are to be submitted by October 15, 2014 through EasyChair

The Chapter should not exceed 20 pages with respect to Springer format.
All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a single-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
