The MVAPICH team is excited to host the 2nd annual MVAPICH User Group
(MUG) meeting. It will take place from August 25-27, 2014 in Columbus,
Ohio, USA. MUG will provide an open forum for all attendees (users,
system administrators, researchers, engineers, and students) to
discuss and share their knowledge on using MVAPICH with large-scale
systems and for a diverse set of applications.
The event includes a set of talks from experts in the field along with
presentations from the MVAPICH team on different aspects of using
MVAPICH and trouble shooting guidelines. This year, we are introducing
a half day tutorial on optimization and tuning of MPI and PGAS
Applications using MVAPICH. There will also be contributed
presentations, an open mic session, and an interactive/hands-on
session with the MVAPICH developers to discuss issues and problems.
Speakers (Confirmed so far):
* Keynote: Dan Stanzione (TACC)
* Sadaf Alam (CSCS, Switzerland)
* Onur Celebioglu (Dell)
* Jens Glaser (Univ. of Michigan)
* Jeff Hammond (Intel)
* Adam Moody (LLNL)
* David Race (Cray)
* Davide Rossetti (NVIDIA)
* Gilad Shainer (Mellanox)
* Mahidhar Tatineni (SDSC)
* Jerome Vienne (TACC)
A set of short contributed presentations from MVAPICH users will be
included in the event. Topics for presentations include, but are not
limited to:
* Case studies and best practices of novel applications from
different application domains, such as: astronomy, bio-informatics,
biology, earth and atmospheric sciences, fluid dynamics,
materials science and engineering, medicine and physics
* Performance and scalability studies of applications on
large-scale systems
* Special tuning and optimization strategies to exploit maximum
performance and scalability
* Tools and code instrumentation for measuring and monitoring
performance and/or resilience
* Tools for parallel program development (e.g., debuggers and
integrated development environments
* Unique usage scenarios such as GPGPUs, MICs, etc.
Submission should include title of the presentation, speaker(s), short
bio of the speaker(s), and a draft version of the presentation (around
10-15 slides in PDF or PowerPoint format). Send your submission in a
single file to mug@cse.ohio-state.edu by July 1, 2014. Notification of
