SBAC-PAD 2014 CFP (Deadline Extended to June 17)

SBAC-PAD extension to call for papers:?Due to requests from many prospective authors, we are extending the?deadlines for abstract submission to June 17th, and the final paper?deadline to June 24th. Please make sure you submit the abstracts in time?so we can organize the review process expeditiously.?====================== SBAC-PAD'2014 =============================?The 26th International Symposium on Computer Architecture and High?Performance Computing?October 22-24, 2014?University Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France?http://sbac.lip6.fr/2014/?==================================================================?

SBAC-PADis an international annual conference, started in 1987, which hascontinuously presented an overview of new developments, applications,and trends in parallel and distributed computing technologies.SBAC-PAD is open for faculty members, researchers, specialists andgraduate students around the world. SBAC-PAD 2014 will be held forthe first time in Europe at University Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris,France. It will be jointly sponsored by SBC Brazilian ComputerSociety, and IEEE Computer Society. The selection process iscompetitive, with acceptance rates below 33%. This year, thereviewing process will include a rebuttal period.

Theproceedings will be published by the IEEE and will also be submittedfor inclusion to the IEEE Digital Library. The authors of selectedpapers will also be invited to submitted extended versions of theirwork for possible publication in a special issue of Elsevier ParallelComputing dedicated to SBAC-PAD.

Authorsare invited to submit original unpublished manuscripts on topics froma wide range of high-performance computing areas, including computerarchitecture, systems software, languages and compilers, algorithms,networks, distributed systems and applications. Specific topics ofinterest are:

*Application-specific systems
* Benchmarking, performancemeasurements, and analysis
* Cloud, Grid, cluster, andpeer-to-peer systems
* Embedded and pervasive systems
* GPUs,FPGAs and other accelerator architectures
* High-performancesystem design for analytics and social networking
* Languages,compilers, and tools for parallel and distributed programming
*Modeling and simulation methodology
* Operating systems andvirtualization
* Cryptography, data protection and security inHPC
* Parallel and distributed systems, algorithms, andapplications
* Power and energy-efficient systems
* Processor,cache, memory, storage, and network architecture
* Real-worldapplications and case studies
* Reconfigurable and fault-tolerantsystems

Allmanuscripts will be reviewed and judged on correctness, originality,technical strength, significance, quality of presentation, interestand relevance to the conference attendees. We also seek to provide aforum for the early dissemination of original contributions onemerging topics, such as programming systems and tools for many-coreprocessors, management software for solid-state storage systems, allaspects of game consoles, green IT and data-center-scale computing.Submissions on new topics will be reviewed with the understandingthat they are likely to contain more limited quantitative evaluationsthan those on established topics.
