summary for the worldwide CUDA, GPGPU and parallel programming community. CUDA: WEEK IN REVIEW

Welcome to CUDA: WEEK IN REVIEW

A news summary for the worldwide CUDA, GPGPU and parallel programming community.
CUDA Pro Tip: GPU libraries provide an easy way to accelerate apps without writing GPU-specific code. The CUDA 5.5 version of the NVIDIA CUFFT Fast Fourier Transform library now supports the popular FFTW API. Learn more in CUDACast #8.

CUDA SPOTLIGHT

Dr. Adam Gazzaley CUDA-Accelerated Neuroscience
This week’s Spotlight is on Dr. Adam Gazzaley, of UC San Francisco, where he is the founding director of the Neuroscience Imaging Center and an Associate Professor in Neurology, Physiology and Psychiatry.

His laboratory studies neural mechanisms of perception, attention and memory, with an emphasis on the impact of distraction and multi-tasking on these abilities. Learn how Adam is using GPU computing in his research.

CUDA NEWS

Nsight Visual Studio Edition 3.1
NVIDIA Nsight Visual Studio Edition 3.1 is available for download. Now supporting Visual Studio 2012, Direct3D 11.1 and CUDA 5.5.

MATLAB Extends GPU support for Image Processing
The MathWorks R2013b release now supports 34 GPU-enabled Image Processing Toolbox functions. In this release, GPU support was added in the areas of object analysis, filtering and image type conversions. Parallel Computing Toolbox includes a new option for faster random number generation on the GPU, and continues to add more GPU-enabled functions.
